Hi! I'm Kim Jordan.
I'm a trauma-informed personal development coach with two interdisciplinary master's degrees, twenty years of professional experience facilitating transformational conversations, and specialized training in climate change coaching and awareness-based systems change.

I became devoted to personal development coaching when I discovered its power to nurture self-awareness and expedite authentic life design. In 2018, I tailored my coaching offer for those who wish to include the reality and implications of climate change in conversations about who they are and how they want to meet the challenge. It's an honor to apply my skills and attention to the creation of a more resilient, empowered humanity and a more sustainable world, and I believe that every fraction of a degree of warming we can prevent matters.

I coach individuals and groups via Zoom and in person at Cary Founded. I also lead silent meditation walks and coach in natural settings. Explore my credentials and experience below.

I'm trained in Presence-Based Coaching & Climate Change Coaching.
I completed my coach training at Presence-Based Coaching, a rigorous school located on a 22-acre, carbon-neutral retreat outside of Asheville, North Carolina. Presence-Based Coaching was founded by thought leader Doug Silsbee who defines presence as "the most resourceful, ready, resilient inner state available to all of us at every moment." The Presence Based Coaching model is developmental, meaning it allows the client to grow "into her potential, becoming increasingly intentional and proactive about what she wants to achieve and who she wants to be.” To support such "accelerated individual development," Presence Based Coaching offers a profound synthesis of the following fields:

-
mindfulness: the capacity to be "exquisitely responsive" to the present moment
-
somatic awareness: honoring the body's wisdom
-
leadership training: the cultivation of accountability, resourcefulness, resilience, and authenticity
-
trauma-informed coaching: nervous system regulation

I'm certifed by the Internation Coach Federation and have continued my professional training with Climate Change Coaches and Theory U. Climate Change Coaches is a "B-corp certified training and coaching company" that "puts specialist coaching skills into the hands of climate leaders." Theory U, which was developed by the Presencing Institute at MIT, teaches awareness-based systems change for the sake of planetary healing.

I've completed two master's degree programs that reflect my interest in human potential & the evolution of human consciousness.
I completed the Philosophy, Cosmology and Consciousness program at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, California in 2015. This extraordinary program ”is dedicated to profound, progressive transformation of social institutions and individual consciousness.."
I also completed an earlier master's program in Human Performance in the 1980s. This program was offered at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. It allowed me to study both psychology and physiology and provided me with a balanced base for my subsequent studies.
I was an alternative trauma therapist in San Francisco from 2005 to 2015.
I utilized a somatic, verbal inquiry method that allowed my clients to free themselves of wounded identities and beliefs and reclaim their natural way of being in the world. The tracking of identities and beliefs often led my clients back through ancestral lines or soul lines to provide deep contextualization and liberation from behavioral patterns that previously seemed illogical.

This experience allowed me to discover and develop a deep empathic skill, for I found I could go on my client's journey with them to a useful degree. Over the years, I experienced so many different human conditions and experiences by merging with trusting individuals, I gained a broad awareness of human suffering and deep appreciation of human resilience. Though I've shifted my interest to coaching, this prior experience allows me to create a coaching container full of radical non-judgment, deep compassion, and positive regard.
My personal journey led me to discover many inspiring teachers.
In my late twenties I answered a call to go West, moving from Chapel Hill, North Carolina to San Francisco. This impulse led me on a twenty-four-year adventure in the cultural sanctuary of the Bay Area where my curiosity and personal journey led me to discover many extraordinary teachers. I'd like to express my appreciation for a few who touched my heart and still influence me to this day by quoting them below.
