Welcome to your Climate Café

Feeling anxious, angry, or grieving about climate change? Live in or near Raleigh, North Carolina? Join us for an in-person "Climate Café" Community Listening Circle.

 

What’s a climate café?

​​

  • an intentional space to gather with others who share concerns about climate change, biodiversity loss, and related sociopolitical issues

  • a supportive space to slow down and let yourself feel whatever is evoked in you

  • a sharing space where you can express your feelings if you feel moved to

  • a listening space where you may experience shared vulnerability and meaning

 

Who can attend?

 

Open to anyone 18+. You don't need to be understand climate science or be an environmental activist to attend.

 

Where will we meet?

 

We will meet in the Music Room in the Sanctuary Building at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Raleigh, located at 3313 Wade Avenue. Use the Wade Avenue entrance. (If you can be on time or a little early, that will be great!)

When will we meet?

Fourth Tuesdays from 7 pm to 8 pm. Upcoming dates are 8/25, 9/22, 10/27, and 12/22.

There will be no event in November. You're invited to come to one cafe or all of them! 

Is this location accessible? 

Yes. The UU Raleigh is wheelchair accessible, with parking spots in the upper and lower lots, an elevator in the main building, and accessible bathrooms on all levels.

 

What's the cost?

 

No cost to attend. No reservations required.

Is this group therapy?

No. Climate Cafés do not provide therapy, coaching, or spiritual counseling. If you are interested in that type of support, we invite you to reach out to our facilitators privately. 

What should I bring?

We will provide some sweet treats. Please bring your own water bottle. ​We look forward to seeing you!
